Our Lesson with Kirk McCaskill


We started this blog to record what we learned during our two hour pitching lesson with Kirk McCaskill.  He pitched for the Angels and White Sox, he also played pro hockey.  For more info on Kirk, check this link from Wikipedia

 He taught us a lot so we wanted to make sure we remembered everything.  

Proper Warm up
A Movement oriented type of warm up is best to get the muscles ready.  (Need pics for these descriptions)
With one hand on the fence, we swung our legs forward and back and side to side all the while getting up on the toes.
swimming motion with the arms.
pull and swim - push and swim
Shaking the fence
karaoke
skipping
striding out and up
butt kickers

Arm is up when foot is down

Mirror arms
Early separation
Toe drag - staying back and through the target line
